Great museum. Friendly staff. Use the pin in Google maps to navigate here, don’t use the satellite I think it moved to create a new parking lot. To avoid the expensive airport bus. Use the metro 3 line to the end and grab the 200e bus. Stay on after the airport stop and it’s the next stop.
Amazing place to visit! You can see old Soviet aircraft’s, engines, helicopters and they have also simulators. It’s free for AirCrew and an amazing store to buy aircraft models and souvenirs.
Very cool experience viewing old USSR Soveit era aircraft, you can go into most planes including the cockpits very cool.
Good fun if you like aviation although not all planes are accessible on the inside, you get to sit in some cockpits and talk to some retired pilots who are happy to answer your questions. The only let-down was the A320 simulator as it is relatively expensive and the ”instructor” was not a very good communicator, came across as arrogant and the experience was somewhat mediocre (imagine spending half the time you have paid for configuring a flight management computer…).
Small but nice aviation park. It is justcac10min walk from the international airport, which makes it ideal for a visit right after arrival or before departure, in case you do not have a big luggage with you. The planes are mainly from Soviet era, passenger or transport, (only one mig21 is a military one) which makes them special and rare. It worth spending one hour walking around and entering inside as on few of them is allowed. The drawback is that the texts are in Hungarian. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Do not hesitate to ask them.
Not been to a lot of air traffic museums, so not much to compare with, but this was a fun hour and a half of looking at old eastern-block planes.
Many of them you can enter, best of all the TU-134 you can get into the navigators seat in the nose (that is if you are nimble enough.
They also have a simulator, and arranges tours of the airport.
Great place to see some old soviet jets, you can't enter many of them though.
A very fun labour of love. Truly wonderful for the plane geeks out there!
